Welcome to the Computer Engineering Department Introduction Page!

Our Computer Engineering Department continues its academic activities with 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, and 3 Research Assistants. The department consists of three main divisions: Computer Hardware, Computer Software, and Computer Sciences. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 85 students were admitted to our undergraduate program. Our Master’s program has been active since 2020.

Our students can benefit from Erasmus, Farabi, and Mevlana exchange programs. They also gain experience by working with companies in Balıkesir Technopark and completing internships in the Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone through university–industry cooperation. Additionally, they have the opportunity to receive TÜBİTAK project support by participating in various research initiatives.

Computer engineering is an engineering discipline that produces technical solutions in all areas where computers can provide assistance, based on the fundamentals of computer science.

Who is a Computer Engineer?
A computer engineer is responsible for the structure, design, development, and implementation of computer systems, as well as for developing software and solving hardware or software-related problems when needed.
