Since its establishment, our department has adopted as its core mission the cultivation of individuals who possess the technical competence required by this universal discipline, adhere to ethical values, think critically, and contribute through innovation and production.
Innovative Approach in Education: The 7+1 Workplace Training Model
One of the strongest pillars of our academic structure is our 7+1 Workplace Training Model, which connects our students with industry before they graduate. Through this model, our students spend one full semester of their eight-semester undergraduate education working as “engineer candidates” in distinguished partner companies, technoparks, and R&D centers. This opportunity enables them to transform theoretical knowledge into practical experience, allowing them to begin their professional careers one step ahead and significantly increasing their employability after graduation.
Student-Centered Success and Project Culture
The greatest source of pride for our department is the success achieved by our students at national and international platforms. From TEKNOFEST rocket competitions to GameJam game development marathons, from TÜBİTAK 2209 student research projects to hackathon awards, our students represent our university with distinction in numerous fields.
Our student clubs and project teams—particularly those focusing on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and defense technologies—go beyond classroom achievement and act as technology ambassadors who develop solutions to real-world problems. As a department, we strongly support this entrepreneurial spirit by providing our laboratories, academic mentorship opportunities, and technological infrastructure for their benefit.
